Enhanced strain-induced magnetoelectric coupling in polarization-free Fe/BaTiO3 heterostructures

Abstract

Using ab initio calculations, we show that, contrarily to conventional expectations, we can have a non-polar heterostructure which shows higher strain induced magnetization sensitivity than its polar counterpart.
