Abstract
Laves intermetallics (RECo2 and RERu0.5Co1.5) were selected to demonstrate the influence of crystal and electronic structural factors, which are effective to lower the hydrogen overpotential from ErCo2 (η10 = 169 mV) to PrCo2 (η10 = 113 mV) and PrRu0.5Co1.5 (η10 = 29 mV).
