Abstract

A new method for the O-alkylation of secondary and tertiary cinnamyl alcohols with primary alcohols by employing CuSO4·5H2O and neocuproine as catalysts was developed, and PEG-modified secondary and tertiary cinnamyl alcohols can be achieved directly.
