Abstract

[V2(HCyclal)2] is prepared by oxidation of V(0) nanoparticles (THF, 50 °C). The V(iii) dimer coordinated by [HCyclal]3− anions with nitrogen as sole donor shows antiferromagnetic coupling as shown by magnetic measurements and computation.
