Abstract

We demonstrate a transparent spacecraft smart radiation device based on vanadium dioxide (VO2) and a hyperbolic metamaterial (HMM) structure. The solar absorption, emission modulation and visible transmission are 0.25, 0.44 and 0.7, respectively.
