Abstract

1. The object of the present paper is to exhibit the processes of calculation of the values of the two solutions of the equation d 2 y / dx 2 + 1/ xdy / dx - (1 + n 2 / x 2 ) y = 0 ............. (1), for successive values of x in the two cases of n = 0 and n = 1. That is if y = AI n ( x ) + BK n ( x ) be the complete integral of (1), where K n ( x ) is a function which becomes zero when x is indefinitely increased, our object is to calculate the values of I 0 ( x ), I 1 ( x ), K 0 ( x ), K 1 ( x ) for successive equidistant values of x .
