Abstract
Two band systems,
A
and
B
, have been observed in emission from the negative glow (in a hollow cathode) of a d. c. discharge through streaming carbon disulphide vapour. Both show rotational structure when photographed on a 20 ft. grating spectrograph; that of the strongest bands of system
A
near 2800 A has been completely analyzed, and is ascribed to a transition

B
extends from the near ultra-violet into the infra-red region, with few regular features. The irregular and closely packed rotational structure suggests non-linear configurations for the states involved.
