Abstract
Formation of the potato crop in soddy podzolic soils of the Field Experimental Station of the Russian State Agrarian University—Timiryazev Moscow Agricultural Academy has shown that doses of 200–300 Gy used for the irradiation of seed tubers are most favorable for stimulating the growth and development of potato plants of the Meteor variety. After this radiation treatment of the seed material, the greatest increase was observed in the length of eyes, in the number of eyes and stems, in the amount of photosynthetic active biomass, in the solids content of leaves and stems, and in the amount of starch in the tubers of grown potatoes. All this can be used to increase the yield of potatoes and their consumer qualities
