1. Sophie Piperno-Neumann is part of the Medical Oncology Department of l’Institut Curie (Paris, France), which is involved in research into rare tumors such as sarcomas and melanomas. Her research is focused on the clinical and translational aspects of uveal melanoma, from preclinical models to genomics, genetic profiling and early trials. She is currently a principal investigator of national and international clinical trials on uveal melanoma.
2. Vincent Servois is part of the Medical Imaging Department of l’Institut Curie, which is involved in gastrointestinal and liver imaging, interventional radiology and clinical research evaluation. His research is devoted to the development of new imaging methods and their integration into the local treatment of cancer (surgery and radiotherapy).
3. Pascale Mariani is part of the Surgical Oncology Department of l’Institut Curie, which investigates digestive carcinomas and liver metastatic tumors, such as melanomas. Her research is focused on the clinical and translational aspects of metastatic uveal melanomas.
4. Laurence Desjardins has been the Head of the Ophthalmic Oncology Department at l’Institut Curie since 1991, where 300 new patients with uveal melanoma are seen per year. She is Past President of the Ophthalmic Oncology Group (2003-2008), a member of the International Society of Ocular Oncology, French Society of Ophthalmology, and has been Chairman of Oncology Pathology for the European Association for Vision and Eye Research since 2010.
