Abstract
The role of apomorphine in the management of motor fluctuations in Parkinson’s disease patients has only recently become appreciated and it continues to be a relatively underutilized treatment in the USA. Injected subcutaneously, apomorphine provides rapid relief of off symptoms and on–off fluctuations. The purpose of this review is to provide a general overview of the various uses of apomorphine, both diagnostic and therapeutic, its mechanism of action, dosing and side effects, both common and uncommon.
