In order to diagnose melasma and its variants, distinguish them from other pigmented illnesses, and keep track of treatment progress and side effects, several diagnostic tools are employed. The limited response and high recurrence rate make treating melasma difficult. Melasma can be treated with a variety of methods, including topical medicines, laser treatment, and injections.
