Abstract
It is a high-performance thermoplastic with specialized qualities when compared to polymer materials. The PEEK-CF30 composite has the following features: Drilling is one of the most extensively used machining processes for combining pieces comprised of polymer composite materials, and it is also one of the most accurate. The quality of the hole is affected by machining outputs such as cutting force, temperature, surface quality, and delamination during drilling. PEEK CF30 thermoplastic material was used in this work, and the thrust force, surface roughness, and delamination factor were all measured using an uncoated HSS drill at various feed and cutting rates while drilling the material. The thrust forces increased in direct proportion to the increase in feed and cutting speeds, respectively. The surface quality improved as the cutting speed was reduced and the feed rate increased, but the delamination factor increased as the cutting speed was reduced and the feed rate increased. In this experiment, the lowest surface roughness was obtained at 40 m/min cutting speed and 0.2 mm/rev feed, while the maximum surface roughness was obtained at 120 m/min cutting speed and 0.1 mm/rev feed.
