1. Patricia Smith Churchland is UC President's Professor of Philosophy and chair of the philosophy department at the University of California, San Diego, and adjunct professor at the Salk Institute. She is past president of the American Philosophical Association and the Society for Philosophy and Psychology. Her latest books are “Brain-Wise: Studies in Neurophilosophy” (2002) and “On the Contrary: Critical Essays, 1987–1997” (with Paul Churchland, 1998).
