Abstract
The major contributing factors to school dropouts among both Caucasians and Negroes were employment, lack of interest in school, and marriage. Though the mean IQs of the dropouts were comparable to the mean ability levels for their respective schools, the Caucasian Ss were more than a year retarded in grade placement and achievement.
