Abstract
Using the free recall procedure, 75 female undergraduates were tested for recall and clustering on lists constructed on either an acoustic, formal, or formal-acoustic basis. The formal-acoustic list had significantly more words recalled than the other lists and also was the only list to show clustering beyond chance. Results show the necessity of differentiating between acoustic rhyme and formal-acoustic rhyme.
