Abstract
46 college students were given the short form of the MMPI in December and April. Scores were separately tabulated for each scale of the December and April administrations and group means were computed for analysis of seasonable differences. The Hs and Hy scores were significantly lower ( p < .01) in April, while a significantly lower ( p < .05) K in April contributed to significantly lower Pd in April when K correction is used. A significantly higher April mean was present on Ma without K correction, though using the K correction neutralized this difference. This study does not support hypotheses for an increase of emotional problems in spring except for the area of energy and activity level ( Ma).
