Abstract
Delayed recall of practiced material, divided into five serial sections, was studied under conditions of pre- and post-cued free and serial recall following free or serial practice using a 2 × 2 × 2 × 5 design. Interaction effects of recall with serial section and practice with serial section were explained in relation to differential information on order. This explanation was supported by the analysis of supplementary data provided by subjects. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed.
