Abstract
Children in Grades 1 through 6 ( N = 1,183) were tested on either a simple reaction time, pursuit rotor, hand tapping, or arm-hand steadiness task. The results, which provide normative data, show that all four tasks are grade (age) dependent; subjects in higher grades performed better than those in lower grades. Reaction time was sex-dependent; the boys scored better than the girls. Arm-hand steadiness was also sex dependent; the girls scored better than the boys. No interaction of sex × grade was noted on any task.
