Abstract
Abstract
Calcium is deposited in the skin in a variety of situations. It is sometimes seen in tumours and in inflammatory disorders such as CREST and dermatomyositis. It may happen as a result of trauma, injection of calcium‐containing solutions or in the setting of systemic dysregulation of calcium homeostasis. In a small number of cases it may be idiopathic. This chapter reviews the classification, diagnosis and treatment of each form of cutaneous calcinosis.
