Abstract
Skin manifestations from poisoning by metals and metalloids are varied. The spectrum of metallodermatoses includes anaphylaxis, acute rashes, inflammatory dermatoses, urticarial eruptions, pigmentary changes, pre‐cancers and malignancies.
The toxic effects of metal poisoning are often unrecognised and delayed diagnosis is common. Exposure can be subtle due to dietary intake, medications, health supplements and occupational exposure. The metals and metalloids discussed in this chapter include antimony, arsenic, gold, lead, mercury, selenium, silver, thallium, beryllium, molybdenum and platinum.
