Abstract
Abstract
The perineum lies below the muscles of the pelvic diaphragm. It is diamond shaped and can be divided into an anterior urogenital and posterior anal triangle. The domain of the dematologist begins at the anal verge. The skin of the anal verge is pigmented, hairless and is puckered due to contraction of muscle fibres. Perianal skin conditions include congenital abnormalities, inflammatory skin disease, infections and benign and malignant tumours.
