Abstract
Background: Sheep scab is a highly contagious disease which has a high economic and animal welfare impact on the UK sheep industry. Some resistance of the Psoroptes ovis mite to current endectocide treatments highlights the importance of identifying infection and then implementing targeted treatment.Aim of the article: This article describes the current situation and control options for sheep scab, highlighting the tools available for dealing with the disease and providing the latest best practice advice to enable effective scab control.
