Abstract
Abstract
A case is presented of acute idiopathic pseudomembranous colitis successfully treated by panproctocolectomy. The barium enema showed “thumb printing”, an appearance normally associated with ischaemic colitis. The histology of the specimen, however, did not confirm an ischaemic aetiology.
