Abstract
AbstractA concise method for the construction of 1‐sulfonyl‐1H‐indoles by the reactions ofN‐(2‐iodoaryl)sulfonamides with calcium carbide is described. The notable features of this protocol are the use of inexpensive and easy‐to‐handle solid alkyne source as a surrogate of flammable and explosive gaseous acetylene, wide scope of substrates, high yield, and simple reaction procedure. This method can also be extended to gram scale.
