Abstract
AbstractThis chapter deals with the essentials of arriving at a diagnosis of skin disease by the process of history taking and clinical examination, supplemented by simple both bedside procedures (e.g. Wood's light, diascopy, dermoscopy and confocal microscopy) and laboratory investigations. It includes a glossary of dermatological terms and their definitions. The roles of teledermatology, mobile telephone and Internet technology are also covered.
