Abstract
Context: Currently, the interaction between periodontal disease and HIV infection has become a crucial issue for oral health. Aims: To examine the current scientific literature on the topic of improving oral health for individuals affected by HIV infection. Methods: This bibliometric study, guided by PRISMA-2020 parameters, comprehensively examines the scientific literature to identify trends, knowledge gaps, and future research areas. Results: The results reveal key moments of interest and sustained growth of publications and research leaders, highlighting the thematic evolution from micro-organisms to contemporary concepts. Thematic clusters indicate areas of high conceptual affinity while emerging keywords such as HAART, Inflammation, and Chronic Periodontitis suggest future research directions. Conclusions: The research agenda proposal emphasizes the importance of exploring established and emerging concepts and addressing specific gaps.
