Abstract
:
Visceral transplant represents an immunologic challenge due to high intestinal graft immunogenicity.
Over the last 20 years, significant advances in immunosuppression regimens have resulted in excellent short-term
outcomes.
:
Currently, visceral transplant is the standard of care for patients with gut failure having life-threatening complications
and complex abdominal pathology. In this review, we describe immunosuppressive strategies in the visceral
transplant field.
