On the efficiency of using bedspace and the network of medical organizations in Russia (review)

Abstract

Particular attention should be paid to indicators of the resource provision of the healthcare system, which are becoming important in the context of the emergence of new challenges to reality against the background of rational planning and optimal use of the network of outpatient and hospital organizations in both rural and urban areas. The purpose of this study is to assess the current state of the network and the availability of beds in Russia, as well as to identify certain areas for improvement in the provision of medical care at the level of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The article analyzed the existing trends and directions for improving the network in the country and the efficiency indicators for bedspace usage in recent years. Such methods as analytical, statistical, of study and generalization of experience, and comparative analysis were used. Thus, the results of the study confirm the need for structural and functional optimization of the country's bed capacity and improving the interaction of hospitals.
