PROBLEMS IN DIAGNOSIS AND MANAGEMENT OF HYPOVOLAEMIA IN SPINAL INJURY

Abstract

SUMMARY Thoracic spinal cord injury can result in hypotension from loss of peripheral vascular tone. There may be problems in both diagnosis and management when this is combined with hypovolaemia from haemorrhage. A case is reported that illustrates these difficulties.
