The type XXVII Streptococcus pneumoniae (pneumococcus) capsular polysaccharide contains equimolar amounts of D-glucose, D-galactose, L-rhamnose, 2-amino-2-deoxy-D-glucose, acetyl, pyruvic acid, phosphate, and choline.
