Abstract
We show how measurements of [Formula: see text] (V = electromotive force, T = temperature) on Li/LixTiS2 electrochemical cells can be used to gain information about the entropy of LixTiS2. Experimental details and results of [Formula: see text] measurements on Li/LixTiS2 cells are reported. The results show that staging, not in plane lithium ordering, is the dominant physical mechanism in LixTiS2. Our data disagree with earlier work by Thompson.
