Abstract
A boundary-layer analysis is presented to study the importance of a time-dependent surface temperature or heat flux on convective heat transfer in a planar stagnation point flow of a micropolar fluid on a flat plate. The governing equation for the unsteady heat-transfer response is formulated. Numerical solutions are presented for ramp and sinusoidal changes in surface heat flux or temperature. Departures from steady-state transfer coefficients are evaluated.
