Abstract
Recent investigations suggest the existence of fundamental intermediate-range forces. Most calculations of their effects have been carried out under the simplifying assumption of uniform density. In this paper the question of how nonuniformity in the density can alter these effects is discussed. It is shown that the effects of intermediate-range forces on the stellar mass and radius are insensitive to the shape of the matter density.
