Abstract
Studies using paper and column chromatography indicate that rat brain contains 0.03–0.08 μmole of β-alanine per gram of tissue and less than 0.01 μmole/g of γ-amino-β-hydroxybutyric acid. After intravenous injection of U-14C-glucose no radioactivity appeared in these two substances.
