Abstract
Various conditions for growth of Gracilaria sp. in tanks with running seawater were studied. An increase in weight of 389% in 4 weeks was obtained at 25 °C with natural daylight. With artificial light a somewhat larger increase was obtained under slightly different conditions. Maximum growth occurred in undiluted seawater, with deterioration of plants at 10%n salinity.
