Abstract
Resolution measurements were made on four films in a Wild RC 8 camera under a variety of controlled conditions. For the scene brightness ranges, common in aerial survey photography, and practical shutter speeds, best resolution is obtained by using a relatively slow high-resolution film, for example, Plus X, and stopping the camera down to f/8 or f/11. The film speed necessary to obtain satisfactory image density under these conditions is obtained by development to the highest gradient appropriate to the scene brightness range.
