Abstract
The total absorptance of ozone (O3) 9.6 micron band has been measured at the room temperature. The amount of ozone is from 0.0188 to 0.5 atm-cm and the range of pressure is from 17 to 760 mmHg. In the experiment the cross-shaped absorption cell containing ozone is used; the ultra-violet absorption is recorded through one arm of the absorption cell to determine the amount of ozone and the infrared spectrum is recorded through the other arm to determine the total absorptance of ozone in the cell. Fig.1 shows the measured value. The experimental data have been analysed and proceed according to the theory of the absorption spectrum model. The result of the experiment shows that the experimental data are consistent with the statistical model.
