Percutaneous management of an aberrant left circumflex artery arising from the right sinus of Valsalva, presenting as acute coronary syndrome

Abstract

Abstract This case report describes a 49-year-old male patient who was admitted with central chest pain at rest. Coronary angiography revealed an aberrant left circumflex coronary artery originating from the right aortic sinus of Valsalva, with 2 critical stenoses proximally and distally. Anomalous origin of the circumflex artery arising from the right sinus of Valsalva is the commonest coronary anomaly. The patient underwent successful percutaneous coronary intervention with stenting of both lesions, with two PTCA guide wires placed in the right coronary and circumflex arteries respectively for stability during the procedure.
