Abstract

Abstract Biliary calculi, commonly known as gallstones, pose a significant health concern globally, often necessitating invasive interventions. This case report documents the successful management of biliary calculi using Ayurvedic principles in a 34-year-old male patient presenting with recurrent biliary colic and evidence of multiple gallstones on ultrasound imaging. The patient underwent a comprehensive Ayurvedic treatment regimen, including dietary modifications and lifestyle adjustments, tailored to balance the aggravated Doshas (fundamental constituents of the body) implicated in the pathogenesis of biliary calculi. Follow-up assessments demonstrated a remarkable reduction in the size and number of gallstones, accompanied by significant alleviation of symptoms and improvement in overall well-being. This case highlights the efficacy of Ayurvedic interventions in managing biliary calculi, offering a safe and holistic approach to treatment while addressing the underlying imbalances in the body. Furthermore, it underscores the importance of individualized therapeutic strategies in Ayurveda, emphasizing the integration of dietary and lifestyle modifications alongside Ayurveda management to achieve favorable outcomes in patients with biliary calculi. Additional research and clinical trials are warranted to validate the efficacy and elucidate the mechanisms of Ayurvedic interventions in the management of biliary calculi.
