Developing Trends in the Ukrainian Bilingual Educational System

Abstract

This abstract highlights the changes in Ukraine’s bilingual education system due to the Russian-Ukrainian war. It discusses the importance of preserving the national language while also providing opportunities for representatives of national minorities to learn in their native language. Additionally, English is recognized as a language of international communication. The axiological approach is emphasized to preserve cultural achievements and national identity. The positive and negative aspects of bilingual education are determined by various social, political, economic, and psychological factors. Educational integration is seen as a promising approach to improving the theory and practice of bilingual education. A well-trained teacher with a strong command of both languages and subject knowledge must create a conducive learning environment in a multilingual educational setup. Developing the theoretical foundations of bilingual and multilingual didactics is necessary for this.
