Abstract
This paper presents the results of a survey undertaken
in rural and regional Victoria in 2003 on the
total costs faced by households caring for people
with chronic illnesses. The impact of these costs
for the households is discussed in the context of
neo-liberal policy development by Australian governments
and the effects of those policies on such
households.
