Abstract
Starting from the second week after birth, majority of piglets suffer from iron-deficiency anemia, which leads to a decrease in the innate immunity, slowing growth and increasing mortality. As a consequence, many piglets die at the age of 7‒10 days. Preliminary injections of gamavit for piglets on the 3rd and 8th day of life in doses of 2 ml and 3 ml per head, respectively, prevents the development of iron deficiency anemia, stimulates their growth and development, and increases their survival at the 25th day of life by 10.5%.
