Abstract
The paper discusses comparison between genotyping and sequencing and their use in pig-breeding. The reasons for the increase in response to selection when combining BLUP and genotyping are analyzed. A sampling technique for genotyping pigs under the conditions of the porcine farm Bashkirskaya Myasnaya Companiya LLC is described: taking a tissue sample and sampling hair follicles.
