1. The idea of quantum cryptography was first proposed by S. Wiesner around 1970 but remained unpublished until 1983 [S. Wiesner SIGACT News 15 (no. 1) 78 (1983)]. Wiesner proposed quantum money and multiplexing channel (essentially one-out-of-two oblivious transfer) but not QKD per se.
