Abstract
Intracranial infection caused by Burkholderia cepacia is a rare and severe condition, often leading to multi-organ failure and high mortality rates. Treatment is challenging, especially with mixed infections. A 56-year-old female with chronic hepatitis B presented with intracranial hemorrhage, developing a mixed infection with Burkholderia cepacia and Propionibacterium acnes. Despite complications like high fever and organ failure, a multidisciplinary approach and antimicrobial therapy led to successful infection control and gradual recovery of liver and kidney functions. This case serves as a valuable reference for similar complex infections.
