The mediating role of achievement motivation in the relationship between proactive personality and entrepreneurial intention among college students

Abstract

With the increasing number of college graduates and the popularization of college students, the employment of college students has become the focus of academic circles. This study explores the mediating role of achievement motivation between proactive personality and entrepreneurial intention of Chinese college students. In this study, 1021 college students from 5 universities in a certain city in China were measured by the proactive personality inventory, achievement motivation Inventory and entrepreneurial intention inventory. The results show that:(1) Entrepreneurial intention is positively correlated with proactive personality and success motivation respectively; (2) Proactive personality can positively and significantly predict entrepreneurial intention; (3) Success-seeking motivation plays an intermediary role in proactive personality and entrepreneurial intention; It shows that proactive personality can directly affect the entrepreneurial intention of college students, and can also indirectly affect the entrepreneurial intention of college students through the pursuit of success motivation.
