Abstract

Abstract A novel and efficient tandem synthesis is described for the preparation of bridged polycyclic compounds consisting of chromeno-oxazocine-quinolin through a reaction between benzyl bromide, 1,10-phenanthroline, and 4-hydroxycoumarin in the presence of K2CO3 without a catalyst in tandem reaction. This one-pot protocol provides these valuable desired compounds under mild conditions with excellent efficiency by using simple available starting materials.
