Abstract
Abstract
This paper proposes novel approach to design single stage LED driver which suppresses the ripples in the lamp. This converter assures high power factor in the input supply side. The resonant elements limit the ripple current which passes through the lamp. Because of the resonant elements in the circuit, the bulk capacitance is eliminated and film capacitors are used, better efficiency and discontinuous conduction assures high power factor. Load power is controlled by the variation of duty cycle of the MOSFET switches with constant frequency. Design values of the converter elements are calculated using the equations derived during the modes of operation. Experimental setup is built for 24W LED lamp and results demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed LED driver.
