Abstract
Drought is one of the adverse impacts of climate crisis and it operates on many different timescales. Droughts are occurring more often each year in different areas of India. Many negative effects on the environment, society, and the economy can result from drought. By determining the severity and length of the drought, drought assessment may be used to determine adaptation and mitigation strategies for addressing the climate problem. Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) is an indicator to measure the rainfall deficit over various periods, which is used to study drought in the particular location. Thus, it is crucial to evaluate the drought condition quantitatively. The outcome highlights the potential that SPI demonstrates in identifying droughts and making use of rainfall that is directly connected to the execution of drought relief policies and measures in the Bharuch area.
