Abstract

Abstract The objective of the present study is to evaluate the molecular docking, antimicrobial, anticancer activity of the Schiff based Cobalt (II), Nickel (II), Copper (II) and Cadmium (II) complexes derived from 3, 4 – diamino benzophenone, salicylaldehyde and glutaric anhydride. The Schiff base ligand and their complexes have been further identified by 1H NMR, 13C NMR. All the Schiff base metal complexes have been screened for their Antimicrobial and anticancer effect. The anticancer activity was studied using MTT assay which showed that the increase in concentration of compound increases the cell death. At 7.8 µg/ml concentration there is an increased anticancer activity, i.e., around more than 97% of cell inhibition. The results of anticancer activity may be positively correlated.
